When planning in Elfa Planner, the design tool will guide you where a storage track can be placed. The storage track can either be planned between two hang standards in a section with corresponding width or be fastened directly to the wall. The storage track fittings use one slot in the respective hang standards it mounts in between and can not be placed next to a bracket click-in. Storage tracks can be planned next to eachother, sharing the same hang standard pair of slots. Take into account what equipment you intend to store in the storage track, in order to determine which space you need to leave free for, for example, a shelf to be mounted underneath.
