Technical description

The wire shelf is a shelving option providing good ventilation and transparency for good overview. It easily clicks into place between two brackets, with no tools needed.
Wire shelves are made of steel wire. The double wire at the front and back adds strength without limiting accessibility. Thanks to the wire design, less dust gathers on the shelves, compared to a solid shelf.
The shelf can be cut to desired width, to achieve a tailored width of your solution.
Wire shelves click in place between two brackets in the corresponding depth. Other products such as shelf hook can be mounded under a wire shelf. The shelf can also be divided into sections with a wire shelf divider. The wire shelf can, in terms of width, be cut to size using a metal saw or angle grinder.

Planning rules

When planning in Elfa Planner, the design tool will calculate the right amount of wire shelves. The design tool, will also help you configure the right widths in the solution, for example when planning a section that is not a standard section width.
* Two wire shelves can share the same bracket. Ideal if you like clean, straight lines or want continuous shelving over multiple sections.
* D: 30 / 12" shelves are perfect for narrow storage areas, such as in smaller garages. D: 40 / 16" and D: 52 / 20" can be used at the top of solutions to store luggage, large storage boxes and other bulky items.
* When planning your solution, bear in mind that an even spread of stored items across the shelves is preferable, evenly loading the entire solution. Do not place all of the weight on the bottom shelves. Plan for placing hang standards closer together when you aim for heavier loads.
To enhance the look and match the finish with other Garage+ products (such as mesh drawers, where the gliding frame features a composite trim), choose to add a wire shelf composite trim.

The daily use of Elfa storage solutions requires both materials and craftsmanship of the highest quality. We develop products designed to last, and our 10-year warranty is a promise of exactly that.
Elfa products are covered by a 10-year warranty from the date of purchase.




What is covered by the warranty?
The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use. It also covers functional defects in moving components such as wheels, soft-close mechanisms, and pull-out functions.
This commercial warranty does not affect your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection legislation.

The warranty provider is Elfa International AB, Sweden.




How to make a claim
If there is an issue with your product, contact the retailer/store where you made your purchase and bring your receipt. The store will then inform Elfa. We at Elfa will do everything we can to provide a response to your claim as quickly as possible. However, it is important that you report any defect promptly, and therefore we recommend that you unpack and inspect your delivery immediately.
If you cannot bring the product to the store, please take a photo showing the defect. Take one photo from approximately 1 metre away and one close-up photo with a nearby object (for example, a matchbox or pen) for size comparison in the case of surface damage.




How we help you
In the event of an approved claim, Elfa undertakes, at no cost to you as a consumer, to repair or replace the defective product or component.
Repair or replacement of individual parts is prioritised in order to extend the product's lifespan. If this is not possible, the product will be replaced with a new or equivalent item.




Limitations
Naturally, we expect that you take good care of your Elfa products. A product that has been stored, assembled, or used incorrectly is not covered by the warranty. External damage and consequential damage occurring after your delivery has been accepted are not covered by the warranty.

Assembly Instructions

You need the following for installation: Metal saw (if you need to cut the wire shelf).
Before you start: Install the brackets. If required, cut the wire shelf to the desired width. A wire shelf has a top and a bottom. The central support wire is connected to the underside of the shelf.
Step 1: Place the underside of the wire shelf over the slots in the bracket.
Step 2: Install the shelf with the outer wires inside the brackets. Lock the shelf by pressing down in the middle and towards the wall.
Step 3 (if you have a gliding frame sharing the same bracket): Attach the four C‑clips (included in the gliding frame package). Snap them onto the two central transverse wires in the gap next to the outer wires of the wire shelf.
To reposition a wire shelf after it has been installed in brackets: Hold the brackets, lift the front edge of the shelf upwards towards the ceiling, and pull outwards to release the entire unit from the hang standards.
Removal:
To remove a wire shelf from a bracket while it is mounted on the hang standards: Hold the hang standard firmly with one hand. Place the other hand at the very back of the shelf. Pull upwards and forwards to release.
Tip: If you have gliding frames or a work surface in your solution, install these before installing the wire shelves. This ensures that the centre‑to‑centre measurement is correct, making installation of the wire shelves easier.
