Technical description

The hang standard is the system component that holds the system products, for example brackets in order to install shelves, drawers and other storage features.
Hang standards are easy to mount and adjust - hang the standard on the top track and move to the wanted position. The weight of a loaded system pulls the hang standards down securely onto the top track, and presses them back against the supporting wall, increasing stability and durability at the same time.
Hang standards are made of high quality, epoxy-bonded steel. They have have two rows of slots, spaced 32 mm (1-1/4") apart.
The amount of screw holes per hang standard are:
1020 mm (40-1/8"): 3  screw holes
1532 mm (60-5/16"): 3 screw holes
2172 mm (85-1/2"): 4 screw holes
They can be cut to size, in order to adapt them to the desired height. Note: a minimum of 4 pair of slots from the top must remain after cutting.
Hang standards should, in addition to being placed in the top track, also be attached to the wall using the screw holes in the standard, in order to further reinforce the attachment and/or provide a more sturdy solution. Secure the standard to the wall using all screw holes, except for the top one.

Planning rules

As our system offers creativity and flexibility in how you plan a solution, we recommend using our planning tool on elfa.com. When planning in Elfa Planner, the design tool will calculate the right amount and spacing of the standards. The design tool will also help you in terms of altering the heights of the standards.
Standards can be cut to size, the minimum cut height is when 4 pairs of slots remain from the top.
Maximum load per section is 240 kg. Do not store too much on each interior product and distribute the weight evenly across the system. Ensure the material and condition of the wall.
Note: with heavier loads it is important to follow our recommendation regarding a safe installation of the standards. Secure the standard to the wall using all screw holes, except for the top one. Also, note that no product can be placed in the lowest pair of slots in the standard (except for extension standard adapter).
A bracket (or other product mounted into the standard) can not be placed in the lowest pair of standard slots, since the load capacity is weaker there (except for extension standard adapter).

Elfa products are covered by a 10-year warranty from the date of purchase.




What is covered by the warranty?
The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use. It also covers functional defects in moving components such as wheels, soft-close mechanisms, and pull-out functions.
This commercial warranty does not affect your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection legislation.

How to make a claim
If there is an issue with your product, contact the retailer/store where you made your purchase and bring your receipt. The store will then inform Elfa. We at Elfa will do everything we can to provide a response to your claim as quickly as possible. However, it is important that you report any defect promptly, and therefore we recommend that you unpack and inspect your delivery immediately.
If you cannot bring the product to the store, please take a photo showing the defect. Take one photo from approximately 1 metre away and one close-up photo with a nearby object (for example, a matchbox or pen) for size comparison in the case of surface damage.




How we help you
In the event of an approved claim, Elfa undertakes, at no cost to you as a consumer, to repair or replace the defective product or component.
Repair or replacement of individual parts is prioritised in order to extend the product's lifespan. If this is not possible, the product will be replaced with a new or equivalent item.




Limitations
Naturally, we expect that you take good care of your Elfa products. A product that has been stored, assembled, or used incorrectly is not covered by the warranty. External damage and consequential damage occurring after your delivery has been accepted are not covered by the warranty.

Assembly Instructions

You need the following to assemble: Ladder/stool, leveller, pen/pencil, drilling machine, screwdriver, adequate screw/plug hardware.

Before you start: Mount the top track.

Important NOTE: If you are going to combine hang standard and extension hang standard, do not cut hang standard. Only cut extension hang standard (from the bottom).

Step 1: Place the hang standard over the top track at a position where there is a cut-out notch on the upper lip of the top track. The upper diagonal incision on the back of the hang standard should be placed over the upper lip in the top track, the lower incision over the lower lip.

Step 2: Slide the hang standards into their intended position.

Step 3: When you have determined the final position of the hang standards - for example after putting some of your brackets/shelves in place in the system - it's time to secure the hang standards to the wall to be able to withstand the extra load from the system features. Ensure that the hang standards are completely straight (using a leveller) and mark the middle- and bottom bore hole of the hang standards using a pen.

Step 4 (if mounting on a wall type requiring plugs/anchors): Remove the products mounted in the standards in order to be able to slide the hang standards over somewhat, to be able to drill holes. See separate instructions for how to use Elfas hardware.

Step 5: Fasten the standards to the wall.

Important NOTE: Be careful not to drill into any electrical wires, ductwork, plumbing or other damagable components. If you have any questions on the locations of these wires or lines, please contact a professional electrician or plumber before drilling.
