This shelf is ideal for laundry tasks and can be easily folded down when not in use, saving space in your laundry room. In this new version, two drying shelves also can be mounted next to eachother, in adjacent sections. Technical description

Drying shelf suitable for hanging washing. Can be folded down to free up space when not in use. Comes with integrated brackets that hook into hang standards.

Durable epoxy-bonded steel construction. Suitable to be used in normal damp conditions in a laundry room or bathroom.

Has 6 crosswise wires for hanging laundry.

Metal colour:
White, close to NCS S 0300-N, gloss around 85
Note: as the finish is a mixed powder, the NCS code/gloss isn’t exact.

Planning rules

When planning in Elfa Planner, the design tool will guide you where a drying shelf can be placed.

The drying shelf uses one slot in the respective hang standards it mounts in between. Two drying shelves can share the same hang standard and be placed in the slots next to eachother. A drying shelf can however not be placed next to a bracket click-in.

* A drying shelf can be placed above another drying shelf, but we recommend minimum 12 free slots between two shelves to offer the option of folding down the shelf when not in use.
* A drying shelf prefereably should be placed minimum 588 mm (equivalent to 12 free slots) from the floor to offer the option of folding down the shelf when not in use.
* If you plan to fold down the drying shelf, leave 7 free slots above in order to be able to have space to mount/re-mount the shelf with the right angle.

The maximum recommended load is 20 kilos. Be aware that wet clothes are heavier than dry.

Assembly Instructions

Before you start: Mount the hang standards.

Step 1: Assemble the drying shelf into the hang standards by leaning the drying shelf upwards and attaching the upper "teeth" on the back fittings into the inner row of slots on the hang standard.

Step 2: Let the shelf come down so that the bottom teeth also attach into the slots in the hang standard.

In order to fold down the drying shelf:

Step 1: Take the drying shelf out from the slots, by leaning it upwards and pulling it out.

Step 2: Use the bottom teeth to hang the drying shelf flush towards the hang standard.

Tip: If you have a drying shelf as a feature in your solution, mount it early in the process, as it also works as a spacer, helping you to determine the correct section width.
