Technical description

The original wallband from 1964 designed by Birger Sparring. Screw directly to the wall and supplemented with required storage features such as solid shelf bracket and solid shelves.
A storage system based on our wallbands is flexible in terms of determining section widths and can be used for building tailor-made solutions for challenging spaces such as around a door posts or under a stair case.
Wallbands are made of high quality, epoxy-bonded steel. They have have two rows of slots, spaced 32 mm (1-1/4") apart.
The amount and placement of screw holes per wallband are:
* 316 mm (12-1/2"): 2  screw holes (distance from top: 30 mm - 286 mm (1-1/8" - 11-1/4"))
* 700 mm (27-1/2"): 2 screw holes (distance from top: 30 mm - 670 mm ( 1-1/8" - 23-3/8"))
* 1340 mm (52-3/4"): 3 screw holes (distance from top: 30 mm - 670 mm - 1310 mm (1-1/8" - 23-3/8" - 51-5/8"))
* 1980 mm (78"): 4 screw holes (distance from top: 30 mm - 670 mm - 1310 mm - 1950 mm (1-1/8" - 23-3/8" - 51-5/8" - 76-3/4"))
* 2396 mm (94-3/8"): 6 screw holes (distance from top: 30 mm - 478 mm - 958 mm - 1438 mm - 1918 mm - 2366 mm (1-1/8" - 18-7/8" - 37-3/4" - 56-5/8" - 75-1/2" - 93-1/8"))

Planning rules

When planning in Elfa Planner, the design tool will calculate the right amount and spacing of the wallbands. The design tool will also help you in terms of altering the wallband heights.
When planning the section measurements of your solution, carefully think about how much weight you intend to place on the shelves. We recommend the following maximum loads based on the following section widths (CC measurement in cm between wallbands):
CC 45 cm: 40 kg
CC 60 cm: 30 kg
CC: 90 cm: 20 kg
Wallbands can be cut to size, the minimum cut height is when 4 pairs of slots remain from the top.

The daily use of Elfa storage solutions requires both materials and craftsmanship of the highest quality. We develop products designed to last, and our 10-year warranty is a promise of exactly that.
Elfa products are covered by a 10-year warranty from the date of purchase.




What is covered by the warranty?
The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use. It also covers functional defects in moving components such as wheels, soft-close mechanisms, and pull-out functions.
This commercial warranty does not affect your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection legislation.

The warranty provider is Elfa International AB, Sweden.




How to make a claim
If there is an issue with your product, contact the retailer/store where you made your purchase and bring your receipt. The store will then inform Elfa. We at Elfa will do everything we can to provide a response to your claim as quickly as possible. However, it is important that you report any defect promptly, and therefore we recommend that you unpack and inspect your delivery immediately.
If you cannot bring the product to the store, please take a photo showing the defect. Take one photo from approximately 1 metre away and one close-up photo with a nearby object (for example, a matchbox or pen) for size comparison in the case of surface damage.




How we help you
In the event of an approved claim, Elfa undertakes, at no cost to you as a consumer, to repair or replace the defective product or component.
Repair or replacement of individual parts is prioritised in order to extend the product's lifespan. If this is not possible, the product will be replaced with a new or equivalent item.




Limitations
Naturally, we expect that you take good care of your Elfa products. A product that has been stored, assembled, or used incorrectly is not covered by the warranty. External damage and consequential damage occurring after your delivery has been accepted are not covered by the warranty.

Assembly Instructions

You need the following to assemble: Screwdriver/drilling machine, metal saw (if adjusting wallband heights), leveller.
Before you start: Make sure you have chosen the right screw/plug for your wall type. The recommendation, when mounting wallbands, is to use Elfa hardware. We recommended that a screw should be placed in every hole, for maximum safety.
Important NOTE: Be careful not to drill into any electrical wires, ductwork, plumbing or other damagable components. If you have any questions on the locations of these wires or lines, please contact a professional electrician or plumber before drilling.
Step 1: Position the first wallband where you want it on the wall. Mark the position of the second screw hole from the top of the wallband.
Step 2: Drill a hole. If you hit wood, continue drilling the entire length of the drill bit. If you hit a hollow part of the wall, enlarge the hole with the appropriate drill bit size for  the type of hardware needed for your wall surface. Screw the wallband loosely into place.
Step 3: Using a leveller, check that the wallband is straight. Mark and drill the remaining holes and fasten all of the screws.
Step 4: To install the next wallband, measure and mark out a suitable distance between the two wallbands, based on your plan. Repeat for each additional wallband.
Tip: While holding the unattached wallband to the wall, place a shelf on the brackets. Adjust the spacing as needed and check that the shelf is level.
