How do I plan a walk-in closet?
Start by thinking about what you want to store and how you want to use the space. Consider the need for hanging storage, drawers, boxes, shelves and space for accessories. Need some guidance? Book free planning assistance here - with Elfa there are no obstacles.
Which dimensions are optimal?
There are no fixed rules, but an area of approximately 2 square metres provides space for a functional walk-in. The depth should ideally be at least 120 cm if you want walking space between two walls with storage.
Which products from Elfa are best suited?
Choose Décor+ for a clean feel with premium details or Classic by Elfa for flexible and smart everyday storage. Combine with shoe shelves, pant hangers, pull-out mesh baskets and a mirror for a complete solution.
How can I maximise storage in a small space?
Go for wall-mounted solutions and make the most of the height. Use valet rods, narrow shelves and door storage. Every centimetre counts - and with the right system, even small spaces can feel big.
What does a walk-in closet cost?
"The price depends on the type of storage solution you choose. To get an estimate, you can take a look at our Ready-made solutions, where we show examples of different combinations and their approximate cost. It gives you a good picture of the price level of different storage solutions
Why choose a wardrobe with wall-mounted system?
It is flexible, airy and easy to adapt as needs change. Wall-mounted also frees up floor space, creating a more spacious and organised feel.
What is the difference between a walk-in and a step-in?
A walk-in closet is a room where you can go in and have storage on several sides. A step-in is a smart solution in smaller spaces where you step in a few steps but have storage along a wall, often behind sliding doors.
