Mirror cleaning tips
To remove dirt or smudges on the mirror surface, use window cleaner first. If this does not help, you can use a razor blade or "Brillo" type steel wool. Note that only steel wool of this type should be used, not Scotch brite or similar. The glass will not be scratched by either razor blades or steel wool.

Cleaning tips for painted surfaces
Use mild and common household detergents. Do not use scouring agents, steel wool or similar preparations containing abrasives or ammonia.

Cleaning tips for varnished wooden surfaces
Be careful with water when cleaning veneered and solid wooden surfaces, as these wood surfaces are more or less porous. Use a slightly damp cloth and then wipe with a well-wrung cloth. Never use thinner to remove stains.

Cleaning tips for laminate and melamine coated surfaces
Clean with common household detergents. Do not use substances that can scratch or cause discolouration or corrosion, such as iodine, hydrogen peroxide, ink or mineral acids.

Cleaning tips for drawers and interior fittings
After cleaning with a suitable synthetic cleaner, wipe with a damp cloth to avoid static electricity. Do not use crystal oil, acetone or similar agents as these can damage plastic parts.

Some products from our competitors may fit, but we cannot guarantee the functionality of the storage solution if it contains components from other manufacturers than Elfa.

Most of the products fit with the current range, but there are some exceptions. For example, an older hang standard from before June 2021 cannot be combined with the new top track launched in November 2023.

Our general recommendation is not to mix products between Classic and Garage+ due to different designs. Due to strength reasons, pull-out trays from the Garage+ range must not be used in a Classic system.

Yes! We test our drawers in our own test centre to guarantee flawless use. The test simulates ten years of use for all scenarios, including the slide function of the drawer.

Absolutely! There are several different combination options. Use the Elfa's extension kit. Our recommendation is that you combine a maximum of 20 rails in height. Make sure that they are stable and that you do not overload the top drawers.

The large hooks with locking function can be mounted either in a storage track, top track or directly on to the wall. Choose screws according to your type of wall.

Garage+ is based on a stronger framework that can withstand more weight. The standard depth for Garage+ is 52 cm and the drawerss have both soft-close and full-extension features. The range also includes different types of cabinets for locked and closed storage.

The lighting is work lighting with 900–1300 lumens (depending on width) and cold white light.

The work bench is very durable in terms of both weight and surface. The maximum weight is 1066 kg and the surface is professional laminate quality and can withstand most garage repairs.

The top hang system is a flexible and complete system where the standards are hung on the top track, which gives increased flexibility and easier installation. The top hang system helps you to ensure the correct centre-to-centre distance between the hang standards, so that the solutions you mount in the system (e.g. gliding frame, wire shelves, etc.) are positioned correctly. The wall-mounted system (also called Sparring) is preferable if you have sloping or uneven walls.

The maximum load for a mesh basket in the On door storage system is 4 kg spread load. We recommend a maximum of 6 baskets per door.

Elfa’s click-in system hangs on a top track. Screw the top track to the wall, attach the hang standards and click in the brackets and other fittings. Elfa's shelving system, Sparring, is made with wallbands that are screwed directly into the wall. Then mount the brackets and other fittings. Each package has a QR code for a mounting film. They can also be found on our website and on YouTube. For Garage+ you need to download the Bilt app for detailed installation instructions. With Classic, you do not need to fix the tracks to the wall, but if you want the system to be even more stable, the hang standards can be fixed in the right position, with a screw in the wall. For Garage+, the hang standards should also be attached to the wall for increased stability. Especially important if you attach cabinets to the tracks.

The recommended weight is approximately 8 kg evenly distributed. It must be possible to slide the drawer into and out of the frame without problems. This applies to both Top hang, Freestanding and Drawer systems.

Recommended maximum load is 40 kg per bracket.
